Canadian university GPA calculators
Most GPA calculators online run one generic 4.0 template and apply it to every school. That is fine until you attend a university that does not use a 4.0 scale, at which point the number it gives you is meaningless. The University of Ottawa marks on a 10-point scale. Guelph works in percentages. Waterloo publishes its own conversion. Each tool here is built on the scale its registrar publishes.
Percentage to GPA
Convert a percentage to a grade point on the Canadian scale your school actually uses.
uOttawa CGPA calculator
Built on uOttawa's actual 10-point scale, not the 4.0 template other tools use.
UTM CGPA calculator
University of Toronto Mississauga CGPA on the 4.0 scale, where A+ and A both earn 4.0.
Ontario Tech CGPA
The 4.3 scale from policy ACD 1510 — including the fact there is no C−, D+ or D−.
Guelph grade calculator
Weighted percentage average on Guelph's own scale — the university reports percentages, not GPA.
Western grade calculator
Weighted percentage average on Western's six-band undergraduate scale.
Waterloo average calculator
Weighted percentage average including Waterloo's 32% floor rule, which most tools ignore.
Check your transcript before you trust any GPA tool
Two things vary between Canadian universities more than students expect. The first is the scale itself — 4.0, 4.3, 9-point, 10-point and straight percentage are all in use. The second is which courses count: some programmes compute a major average separately from the cumulative average, and some exclude failed courses that were later repeated.
Every calculator here states which scale it applies and links to the registrar page that publishes it. If your transcript disagrees with the tool, your transcript is right, and we would like to know so we can fix the tool.
